Wasi Haider is a Karachi based artist. He was born in the year 1958. If you feel he had some degree in fine arts, you are wrong. This talented person is self taught.  His genre is pointillism. Whenever he grabs his paintbrush, he just wants to see the freedom of colors. His main focus is on flowers and women, and this combination of flowers and women is merged by many famous artists before him decades back.  The essence of flowers refers to the independence of women. You might have noticed that most of his work shows skill and a passion for life and mostly, he paints on canvas with oil paints. His artwork focused on neo-impressionism is extremely beautiful, you may find it at Cross Borders art gallery that is a famous art gallery in Dubai. He got his degree from Technical Training Centre, Karachi in Civil Draftism. He even writes articles on a constant basis in Midweek Daily Jang Karachi under the ‘art and artist’, section.

Wasi Haider exhibited his work on 11 different solo exhibitions and one of them was at Jharoka Art Gallery, where most of his work was based on pointillism.  You cannot say Wasi’s medium is limited to this. I personally had a look at his work and was amazed that he works in various mediums and on different topics.  He also exhibited at Cross Borders art Dubai, in London and Washington DC. Talking about pointillism, there are only a handful of artists in Pakistan who master this art, and Wasi Haider is one of them.
